Many of you already know Lindo as a powerhouse loose-forward for our partners, the USRC Tigers. But beyond the tackles and the tries, Lindo brings a wealth of high-performance knowledge that links the locker room directly to the products we create.
We sat down with Lindo to discuss his journey from South Africa to Hong Kong, the critical importance of reliable rugby strapping, and why he is excited to help other clubs optimize their player welfare.
Pillar Sports: Lindo, welcome to the team! For those who only know you from seeing you make tackles on the weekend, tell us a bit about your background. How did your rugby journey unfold, and what do you do to unwind?
Lindo: “My rugby journey began in South Africa, playing for WITS University and later the Lions Rugby Union. Those experiences shaped me as both a player and a leader, and eventually led me into coaching at Tigers Academy.
Rugby has always been about more than just the game — it’s about growth and connection. Away from the pitch, I keep balance with strength training and exploring Hong Kong’s food and culture, which has been a refreshing way to settle into this new chapter.”
Pillar Sports: You’re currently a loose-forward for the USRC Tigers, arguably one of the most physical roles on the field. How does being in the heat of the game help you understand what players and medical staff need from their gear?
Lindo: “Loose-forward is one of the most physical roles on the field, and being in that intensity every weekend gives me real insight into what players and medical staff need.
‘Tape isn’t just tape — it’s stability and confidence. Adhesive strength under sweat and flexibility that doesn’t restrict movement are non-negotiable.’
If gear fails under pressure, safety’s at risk, which is why reliability matters most.”
