The rugby sevens competition at the Aichi–Nagoya 2026 Asian Games delivered three days of exciting rugby, with our partners Hong Kong China Rugby, Philippine Rugby, and Singapore Rugby representing their nations on the international stage from 1–3 October in Nagoya, Japan.
Hong Kong China Rugby Makes History
Hong Kong China Rugby delivered an outstanding performance, with the men’s team securing gold for the third consecutive Asian Games after defeating China 26–0 in the final. The women’s team also earned a podium finish, winning bronze with a hard-fought 7–5 victory over Thailand.

Philippine Rugby Shows Its Fighting Spirit
The Philippine men’s team battled through a competitive tournament, recording a 31–12 win over Singapore before defeating Sri Lanka 33–12 in the fifth-to-eighth-place playoffs. They finished sixth overall after a 34–7 defeat to Malaysia in the fifth-place match.

Singapore Rugby Finishes Strong
Singapore’s men’s team closed its campaign on a high, beating Uzbekistan 28–12 to finish 11th overall. The women’s team also secured a positive finish, defeating Malaysia 10–5 to claim seventh place.
