Two Pillar Sports partners. One international stage. This Saturday, Hong Kong China and Manusina Samoa go head-to-head in the final round of the WXV Global Series Challenger in Hong Kong.
There are moments in the rugby calendar that feel a little different for us at Pillar Sports.
This Saturday, 26 September, two teams we are proud to support will meet on the same field as Hong Kong China Women’s XV take on Manusina Samoa in the final round of the 2026 WXV Global Series Challenger.
Kick-off is at 3:30 PM HKT at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.

Two Partners. One Big Match.
Our partnership with Hong Kong China Rugby supports the organisation as its Official Tape Supplier through 2027, helping its representative teams prepare for a busy international calendar.
On the other side of Saturday’s match is Manusina Samoa, the women’s national team represented by Lakapi Samoa — another long-standing Pillar Sports partner. Our partnership with Lakapi Samoa supports its national teams, including Manusina, as they continue to develop and compete on the international stage.
So, when the whistle goes on Saturday, Pillar Sports will have a unique perspective: supporting both sides of the field.
We won’t be picking a side. We’ll be watching, supporting, and celebrating rugby.
Hong Kong China: Building Momentum at Home
Hong Kong China opened their WXV Global Series Challenger campaign with an impressive comeback against Brazil, overturning a 14-point deficit to secure a 29–24 victory in front of their home crowd.
The team then faced Fiji in Round 2, with Fiji securing an eight-try victory. Hong Kong China now return to Kai Tak for their final match of the tournament, with the opportunity to finish their home campaign on a strong note.
For Hong Kong China, the tournament has also marked a significant return to home international rugby, with the WXV Global Series Challenger providing three high-level fixtures in front of local supporters.
Manusina: Growing Through International Competition
Manusina Samoa arrive at the final round having faced a demanding tournament schedule.
Samoa opened their campaign against the Netherlands before taking on Spain in Round 2. The team is being coached by Fuimaono Bella Milo, who brings extensive experience from both playing and coaching in Hong Kong rugby.
The final round gives Manusina another opportunity to test themselves against international opposition and continue building through the competition. As Samoa’s coaching group has highlighted, this tournament is an important part of the team’s development and growth.
A Match Worth Watching
The WXV Global Series Challenger brings together six international women’s teams — Brazil, Fiji, Hong Kong China, the Netherlands, Samoa and Spain — across three rounds in Hong Kong.
Saturday’s Hong Kong China v Samoa match is part of the final triple-header, alongside Fiji v Netherlands at 12:00 PM and Spain v Brazil at 7:00 PM HKT.

Match Recap
The final round of the WXV Global Series Challenger delivered a memorable finish in Hong Kong, with two Pillar Sports partners going head-to-head.
Manusina Samoa defeated Hong Kong China 34–17 at Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, securing their first win of the Challenger.
Hong Kong China had opened their campaign with a strong 29–24 comeback victory over Brazil, before facing Fiji and then Samoa in their final two matches. Despite the result, the tournament gave the Hong Kong China women valuable international competition on home soil.
For Manusina Samoa, the victory provided a strong finish to their campaign and an important result as they continue building within the international women’s rugby pathway.
The tournament also saw Fiji crowned the inaugural WXV Global Series Challenger champions, completing a three-match winning campaign after defeating the Netherlands 20–17 in their final match.
For Pillar Sports, it was a special tournament to watch — not only because of the international rugby on display, but because two teams we are proud to support shared the same stage.
